Film club: Everything is Illuminated

Saturday, April 21st at 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

At this month’s Film Club, Jonathan Cohen presents the film 'Everything is Illuminated', which traces the protagonist’s travels in search of a Ukrainian woman who had rescued his grandfather from the Nazis.

In introducing the film, Jonathan makes personal links to a recent ‘roots’ trip of his own, to the birthplace of his grandfather in Central Ukraine. Expect the unexpected, and fields of sunflowers and poppies.

In the post-film 'sharing' there'll be a chance (strictly optional) to learn and sing some traditional Eastern European songs, and to experience the delights of the Eastern European delicacy 'Borscht' (traditional beetroot and red cabbage soup).
