This being, that becomes,
On the arising of this, that arises,
This not being, that does not become,
On the ceasing of this, that ceases
WLBC’s annual Order member/mitra retreat is a great opportunity for experienced, committed Triratna sangha to practise together, and to develop friendships that can continue to grow long after the retreat – friendships that connect our various local sanghas, as well as deepening sangha at the WLBC. It’s a valuable chance to create connections with people we may not often see because they go to other Centres, or to other classes in the week from ourselves. We can often go much deeper in our own practice alongside others who share our commitment to the Dharma, and the strength of the collective sangha we create is an essential basis for making the Dharma available to others. As if to symbolise this, there will be two mitra ceremonies in the course of the retreat.
The theme of the retreat is the fundamental Buddhist teaching of conditionality. Bodhilila writes: “This is a teaching which has had a very profound impact on my practice and I love how, even though it is so simple, it can be applied to everything we encounter in life and in our minds.” Yashobodhi has already co-led a number of retreats on this theme with Dhivan Thomas, the author of the well known book on conditionality. Ratnaprabha will also be there with his wealth of Dharma knowledge
The venue is Vajrasana, well worth experiencing after its multi-million pound redevelopment, and May is a wonderful time to experience its gardens and outdoor spaces.
Please note: This retreat is open to mitras and Order members only. Mitras and Order members who do not normally come to WLBC are particularly welcome.
