Please arrive promptly:  the group begins at 2.30pm, and we are unable to answer the door after that time.

We meet every month on a Sunday, 2.30 – 5.00, in the study room in the basement. The group’s open to anyone who is a regular at a Buddhist Centre and is interested in writing. You don’t have to be an experienced writer. You might just want to try it out. But if you do already write, you might value a space to write in a Buddhist context. The main aim of the group is to facilitate writing in a relaxed atmosphere among people with shared values, but above all to allow a space where we can contact the Imagination. The Imagination is vital to the spiritual life, fostering connectivity with the world, other people and our goals as Buddhists, and writing for some people is an exciting way of exploring it.

The usual format of the meetings is that we do writing exercises in the first half, have tea, then in the second half a feedback session is offered: if you have work that you feel is ready for helpful comments, you can bring copies and the group will gently critique it.

Upcoming meetings are:
June 18
July 23
Aug 20
Oct 15
Nov 19
Dec 10

If you would like to know more about the group, please email the office and they will pass on your query to me, Dharmavadana.
