Piano and flute recital – a musical trail from West London to Spain and back

Published on Jan 20th 2018, in News

Amalamati and Clara NovakovaThis week sees the first of WLBC’s 2018 series of concerts by leading professional musicians – in this case involving a pianist who has strong personal connections with the Centre.  Many years ago Amalamati/Tim Lissimore was a WLB mitra (‘friend’) and working as a professional pianist in London.  He is now a member of the Triratna Buddhist Order and Chair of the Valencia Buddhist Centre, combining this with his work as a music professor at the Valencia music conservatoire. He is a gifted, imaginative and sensitive musician who has played in partnership for many years with flautist, Clara Novakova. Come and hear them perform live some terrific music, including works by Bohuslav Martinu and Cesar Franck.
