Gestalt therapy is a dynamic talking therapy that focuses on your present-centred experience to bring greater awareness and understanding to your difficulties. In Gestalt it is your experience arising in the here and now between you and therapist that brings a deeper understanding than intellectual knowledge alone. For example you know how to breathe but until you have felt the life-giving support of the breath as it moves around your body you don’t truly experience what breathing is. The past is also vital; it is your culture, your story, the way you hold yourself and is a foundation for therapy. I work with all that you bring – including your struggles, thoughts, habits, movements, energy shifts, story – and sometimes your silence. In this way you are supported to uncover, explore or release thoughts and feelings and regain balance.
