This retreat is an important event in the WLBC calendar – our annual weekend for mitras and Order members. It’s a chance to go deeper and practise with others who have made a commitment to following the Buddhist path, and an opportunity to make and develop friendships with those at the heart of our sangha as we come together as a community, practising together, studying together, going for walks or just hanging out with each other.  It’s also a lovely way to experience and practise kalyana mitrata and to get to know other mitras and Order members associated with the Centre with whom we may not otherwise come into contact.

Our theme for the retreat is the four Sangharavastus or ‘means of unification’ – a teaching of the Buddha, also important in the Mahayana, about how to create effective sangha in a way that is both supportive and enjoyable for those directly involved, and of service to the wider world – particularly inspiring material for a sangha retreat like this one.

This retreat is open to Order members and mitras.  In previous years this retreat has booked out, so early booking is recommended.
