This course will run over six Wednesdays 28 October – 9 December, 7-9.15pm (Please note there will be no class on 18 November).

The Metta Bhavana, or meditation on loving kindness, is only the first of a set of four meditation practices to develop the Brahma Viharas: Metta (Kindness), Karuna (Compassion), Mudita (Gladness) and Upekkha (Equanimity). Through cultivating these qualities in our meditation and our everyday lives we develop our capacity to respond to whatever we encounter in the world (and in our minds) with equanimity, rooted in compassion and insight. And we open our hearts to joy…..

This 6-week course is open to anyone familiar with the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana meditation practices. If you have some familiarity with the Metta Bhavana, this course will enrich and deepen your experiential understanding of that practice, and give you more context on how it relates to some of the most fundamental teachings of Buddhism.

Participants will receive weekly emails with audio recordings of teaching resources to support home practice during the course.
