Three ways to celebrate Buddha Day online:

  • Celebrate the Buddha’s Enlightenment with the West London Buddhist Centre sangha! Paramananda will begin the morning with meditation and a talk about the historical Buddha. Bodhilila will launch a year dedicated to Amitabha, the archetypal Buddha of meditation and compassion who will be a focus for our practice and a source of inspiration over the coming year.

10.30 Paramananda: Meditation and talk

12.00 Bodhilila: On the Year of Amitabha

  • International Buddha Day celebration (hosted by the Preceptors College) on Saturday 9 May. An opportunity to join the worldwide Triratna sangha with events hosted in different countries throughout the day and evening. The day begins in Waiheke Island (New Zealand) and finishes in San Francisco (USA). Click here for the programme and other resources.
  • Traditionally Buddhist festivals fall on the full moon so you can also mark Buddha Day on Thursday 7 May with an evening of practice led by Paramananda during the weekly Meditation Space.
