Learn two simple yet fundamental practices: the mindfulness of breathing and the metta bhavana, a kindness and compassion meditation in these Introduction to Meditation Days.

About this event

The morning session will be an introduction to mindfulness meditation with a focus on bringing awareness to the sensations of our breathing body. Bringing awareness to the body helps us become more grounded, more centered and less caught up in our thoughts. Bringing awareness to the flow of the breath helps our minds to settle and calm, while developing awareness of our moment by moment experience. The more present we are in the moment, the less our minds are busy thinking about the past or worrying about the future. The afternoon session will build on our mindfulness practice with a focus on developing kindness and compassion towards ourselves and others.

No experience or knowledge of meditation or Buddhism needed. Each day is a stand alone event, not a series.
