Beyond living and dreaming

There is something more important;

Waking up.

Antonio Machado

When we wake up in the morning, there can be the relative calm of resting, the energy (or not) to move into our day and what is in-between. We can see this as a daily training ground, familiar territory for waking up in the bigger sense – seeing reality, including ourselves, as it exists (strengths, weaknesses, taking it all in). Buddha is not a name, it is a title and it is often translated as ‘one who is awake’ or ‘the enlightened one’.

Join Bodhilila and Maitripushpa for six weeks as together we explore the bodhyanga –seven limbs of awakening (also known as the 7 Enlightenment Factors). The openness of awareness, the energy of investigation, perseverance and rapture, the calming of tranquility, absorption and equanimity. Through discussions and meditations, we’ll discover different ways into opening our heart, mind and body to the freedom of being awake –just a little every day.

Further information

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event via Zoom, and again at least 48 hours before the start date. You will need to scroll down to the end of your email to see these, especially on a mobile.

Please note that the £30 registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. After the course you will be invited to make a further voluntary contribution towards the event. The suggested donation for this event is £60, but please treat this as a guide to help you and offer what you can above or below that figure. We appreciate your support.

Additional support

We have bursary places available if you need a little more support right now and can’t manage the registration fee. We’d love to have you join us. Just email info@westlondonbuddhistcentre.com
