A meditation day is an easy way to get a substantial experience of the peace, clarity and positivity that meditation can offer, and sets you up with everything you need to start meditating at home. It gives you time to slow down a little and let deeper, more satisfying and insightful aspects of your mind become available, and you’ll learn and practise some primary techniques for going further with meditation. If you’re new to meditation, or have been coming to one of our drop-in classes, these days offer a way to get a thorough grounding. If you’re already a meditator, they provide a great refresher on key principles and, like a day retreat, provide a helpful boost to your practice.
We offer meditation days on two different themes:
– Meditation days on kindness and compassion, like this one, show you how to find and cultivate in yourself an attitude of loving appreciation that is a basic part of our humanity, and that leads naturally to an easy, enjoyable sense of connection and supportive companionship with others – and with oneself.
– We also offer meditation days on mindfulness, which show you how to bring your attention gently into your body and breath, so that you gradually become calmer and more sensitive, grounded and aware, more able to find pleasure and enjoyment simply being yourself.
Each day can be attended separately, but their themes also complement each other, and the two days together cover similar ground to one of our six week Introduction to Meditation courses – an ideal way of covering the course material for those unable to come on a regular weekly basis, and a perfect foundation for one of our ‘going deeper’ meditation courses or for going on retreat.
There is a small and strictly limited number of low-cost bursary places available for those who cannot afford the course fee. Please contact the Centre if you wish to apply.
The easiest way to book is online - just click the button below.
Please make sure you have read all the details of the event, have made sure you are eligible to attend (eg for 'going deeper' events) and are willing to make any commitments that are required.
Bookings are fully refundable up to 7 days in advance. After that we cannot usually offer refunds.
