Midweek ‘Going Deeper’ Retreat at Vajrasana, Suffolk
- Mon Apr 27th 2020
- Fri May 1st 2020
- 7:00 pm
- 3:00 pm
- Booking required
On this retreat we will explore the theme of: Establishing the Three Vessels. In alchemy the vessel was both the actual and symbolic container in which the transformation of the prima material took place. Using the metaphor of alchemy to understand meditation, the material to be transformed is our own psyche, and in order to enable such a transformation we need to establish the vessels in which this can occur. On this retreat we will be looking at how, by using a model of the three vessels – the world , our own bodies and the heart – we can increase the effectiveness of our meditation and enjoy an enlivened intimacy with ourselves, others and the world.
This retreat, the longest and most intensive in our programme, is a rare opportunity to fully immerse yourself in Dharma practice with others from the WLBC sangha in the beautiful and highly supportive conditions of Vajrasana, an award winning purpose built Buddhist retreat centre in the midst of the Suffolk countryside, easily accessible from London.
Open to anyone who has a basic understanding of Buddhism (eg from an Introduction to Buddhism course), and has learnt to meditate. Please contact the Centre if you’re unsure whether this retreat is suitable for you.
