West London Buddhist Centre

About Us

West London Buddhist Centre

We provide Buddhism, mindfulness and meditation resources for the whole of the West London area, and are especially close to Notting Hill, Portobello Road, North Kensington, Bayswater, Royal Oak, Westbourne Park, Queensway, Harrow Road, and Paddington. Our new custom designed space is beautiful, with architecture that blends traditional dharma with western culture. Our door from busy Porchester Road opens to a tranquil, spacious reception area.  Enjoy tea, book browsing, conversation and discussion.  There’s an elegant yoga studio with a range of classes, and a treatment room where massage and other therapies are on offer. Downstairs is a library and two special rooms for meditation events. The whole centre is fully accessible with a lift, disabled shower and toilet.

The West London Buddhist Centre is linked to a wider movement called the Triratna Buddhist Community (formerly FWBO). We are just one of many Triratna centres, businesses, retreat centres and other Triratna initiatives worldwide. However, like other Triratna enterprises, we are a separate charity, Triratna Buddhist Community (West London), responsible for our own finances, and operating entirely independently.

Open to Everyone

We try to make our classes relaxed, informal and interactive, and relevant to ordinary people leading ordinary lives. You do not have to be a Buddhist or become a Buddhist or anything else in order to attend our classes.

How much does it cost?

Our drop-in classes are by donation and our courses operate on a sliding scale. We have no outside sources of funding, so we rely largely on your generosity in order to keep the Centre running. If you can’t afford any of our charges, then please do talk to one of the Centre team and we can try to work something out.

Meet new friends and greet old ones on this Sunday’s Sangha Day, 8th December, 10.30am-4.30pm. See our new chair Amalavajra welcomed too! See programme here.
