The Buddha was born as we are born,
What the Buddha overcame, we too can overcome
What the Buddha attained, we too can attain

Statues, photos and drawings of the Buddha look calm, composed, at ease. Who wouldn’t like some of that?

Join the WLBC as we explore how each of us might touch into some of those qualities. Whether your way is through meditation, talks, hanging with friends or devotional practice (or all of these), this weekend is your wake-up call!

Because that’s how the Buddha reached this state of loving awareness. He woke up –  woke up to the reality that this life ultimately is all about change (good and bad). That we cause our own suffering through wanting it to be otherwise. That the only thing we can do about it is change our perspective about this impermanence. If we can start to wake up to little glimmers of this awareness in our own lives, we can move towards a deeper sense of letting go into what is and clearly see what we can effect and what we can’t. This can free us from the prisons of our own making and open us to more potential of what is possible.
