This 8-week course runs 14th October – 2nd December.

The point of life is to live – to live as fully, richly, and meaningfully as possible.

The point is to really do something with your life, instead of merely scrolling through Instagram, binge-watching Netflix or rehearsing arguments in your head. Most people simply don’t realise how much potential they have, how large their life could be. The Buddhist practice of mindfulness is to do with becoming more alive and less toxic, more whole and less fragmented.

This 8-week course is an ideal way to learn mindfulness. The course uses as its base Maitreyabandhu’s book Life with Full Attention (included in the course)  and is accompanied by the Life with Full Attention App.

There are hundreds of books on mindfulness, but for a practical guide I would turn first to Life with Full Attention by Maitreyabandhu….   Alice O’Keeffe, The Guardian

Mindfulness is about working with limiting thoughts in order to become more alive, more creative and more able to face the challenges of life. After all, it’s your mindset, your habitual thought patterns and unconscious inner narratives that limit your life.

Studies suggest that mindfulness helps people manage stress, cope better with illness and reduce anxiety and depression. Many people report an increased ability to relax, a greater enthusiasm for life, and improved self-esteem.

Mindfulness comes from the Wisdom tradition of Buddhism. If we take mindfulness out of that context we change it. It becomes less authentic. This course puts mindfulness back in context but in a day-to-day practical way, bringing ancient mindfulness techniques to bear on modern life.

Ultimately the aim of mindfulness is to move towards reality itself, to progress toward the enlightened mind.

Put this course into action on our 1-3 November weekend retreat. Book both together and save. More info here.
