Love as an Act of Resistance

When hatred, fear and anger seem to dominate, how can we choose a different way to respond? This day retreat explores the radical possibility that love itself can be an act of resistance. Inspired by Lauren Brandt’s viral poem, we will look at how turning towards love and connectedness can help us meet the sense of hopelessness we sometimes feel about the state of the world.

The day will include:

– Guided meditation

– Buddhist teachings

– Group discussions

– A shared lunch

Together, we will explore what it means to go against the grain, to refuse to respond on the terms of hatred and fear, and instead to make a conscious, courageous choice for love.

Bring a vegan / vegetarian lunch to share
Suggested donation £15-30
