Simply radical

Published on May 6th 2025, in Blog

Being radical is the lifeblood of some but the last thing others would even consider. Maybe you can put that down to those who are risk-takers or cautious, those who want to be seen, even fly under the radar. Maybe it’s being trendy and up-to-date (‘did you see those rad shoes?’).

Yet looking at the root of what radical means, it’s much more than any of these. The heart of being radical is being authentic, coming back to our fundamental base (or root) of who we are and what is important to us. Speaking out (with kindly awareness) when you see injustice or don’t understand. Saying no – or yes – when this is what is needed. Even something as apparently ‘simple’ as wearing bright colours when it feels like we’re stuck in a black and white photograph and your heart is really a multicolour rainbow.

Can we harvest the benefits of this most radical of gifts – being a human being – with our ability to reflect, act, speak and connect consciously? Follow a path like Buddhism to bring us closer to who we truly are and how we want to grow and transform?

It’s not rocket science. It’s simply being radical.
