Some sad news from Bodhilila

Published on May 28th 2022, in News

Dear friends,

It is with great sadness that I am letting you know that Jackie Lychnos, a longstanding and much loved member of our community, died on Tuesday 17th May. Jackie was a kind, generous woman, a down-to-earth, dedicated Dharma practitioner with a particular love of meditation. I was always impressed by the depth and continuity of her practice, how she was always questioning, always seeking more understanding and clarity, serious in her search for truth. Remembering her now, I find the sound of her voice and the sound of her laugh echoing in my mind. Jackie never lost her sense of humour despite dealing with many challenges in her life and years of ongoing health issues.

If you would like to attend, Jackie’s brother has arranged for her funeral to take place at Lambeth Crematorium on Thursday 9th June at 2pm (please do not contact the centre for more details, this is the only information we have).

We will be holding our own sangha event to remember Jackie and rejoice in her life and her merits on Thursday 23 June from 11am-1pm at the West London Buddhist Centre. There will be more details nearer the time, this is just to let you know the date in case you would like to come – the event will be open to everyone. In the meantime please bear Jackie and her family in mind, sending them metta and maybe chanting a mantra for Jackie.

with metta,

Bodhilila
