Come and celebrate Dharma Day
How the Buddha’s awakening opened the door for all of us
Join us on Sunday, 26th July from 2pm – 6pm to celebrate Dharma Day, marking the profound moment the Buddha set the Wheel of the Dharma in motion. We will epxlore one of the most dramatic and joyful turning points in Buddhist history: the sudden awakening of the ascetic Kondañña. When the Buddha exclaimed, ‘Kondañña knows!’, he wasn’t just celebrating his friend’s insight – he knew that he was no longer alone in his realisation, a bridge had been built between his mind and all human beings. The Buddha understood that this moment was the birth of the Sangha, the spiriutal community of practitioners, proving that the path to freedom, greater ease, connection and love is open to us all.
Come and join us to reflect on what it means to truly know, to experience the Dharma in your own life, and to be part of our community of spiritual friends practicing together, that keeps this wheel turning today.
The afternoon will be led by Vimokshini and Maitrikumara offering meditation, teaching, reflection, discussion and a ritual helping us explore for ourselves how we can live out the Buddha’s wisdom in day-to-day life. There will also be time to meet new and old friends. All are welcome!
