There are so many ways we can grow and change. Uncovering and polishing the six qualities of generosity, ethics, patience, energy, meditation and wisdom that we all have in us (a little or a lot) is one way of transforming. Whether we are just dusting them off or discovering them anew, investigating these ‘perfections’ will offer us more self-awareness, confidence and hints of freedom for our journey of life.

The Six Paramitas (or Six Perfections) are said to be the qualities fully manifested and spontaneously expressed in the awakened heart and mind of a Bodhisattva (enlightenment being).  While we are far from perfect, practising the Six Perfections will enable us to uncover these qualities within us and over time to realise more and more of our potential.

Through discussion, meditation, exploration and reflection, Bodhilila and Maitripushpa invite you to join them for 6 weeks of polishing these different facets of our inner jewel. The approach will be experiential, creative and fun as we develop these practical yet profound qualities, making them more and more a part of our daily lives, allowing our inner jewel to shine.

The course will be held on zoom and a weekly email with recordings of talks and meditations from each session will be sent to participants which can be used to catch up if you miss a session and as a resource after the course has ended.

Just as is the case with the sesame seed being the cause of the oil and milk being the cause of butter, but where the oil is not obtained without pressing and the butter is not obtained without churning, so all sentient beings, even though they possess the actual essence of Buddhahood, will not realize Buddhahood without engaging in practice.
