Our mind is notoriously tricky and hard to manage. What’s crucial is to be able to work with this elusive ‘non-thing’ called the mind. This four week course is open to everyone. By the end of the course you will have all the tools for a lifelong meditation practice.

Programme

Week 1 – Learn to sit in a strong, supportive meditation posture.  Look into the preliminaries of meditation and hear the Buddha’s teaching on ‘the second arrow’.

Week 2 – Using the teaching of ‘the 5 Nirvaranas’, the coverings which cloud our perception, we will look deeply into the habits of our mind and how to transform them for the better.

Week 3 – Learning the Metta Bhavana meditation practice.  Transforming hatred and ill-will and cultivating Loving-Kindness.

Week 4 – Explore how meditation can be a means to the development of wisdom, and ultimately lead us to insight into the nature of reality.
